ANCIENT EGYPTIAN TEMPLES AND RITUAL

CLASS 2: TEMPLES IN THE LANDSCAPE

Rock-cut temples and sacred landscapes form another key aspect of ancient Egyptian architecture. Many rock-cut temples, from the Sinai Peninsula to Nubia, embody the mythology of the goddess of the Eye of the Sun. Highlights of this class will range from Hatshepsut's temple at Deir el-Bahri to Ramesses II's temples at Abu Simbel.
